Origins Edit

After leaving The Heartbreakers, Richard Hell decided to form a new band with himself as the leader. He recruited Robert Quine as lead guitarist, who was described by Hell as being a "bald 33 year old law-school graduate who hadn't played in a band since college." Marc Bell, later known as Marky Ramone of The Ramones, was chosen as drummer. Ivan Julian was selected randomly from a list of guitarists looking to play a single show with any band, and was asked and accepted to join The Voidoids as rhythm guitarist.
